StercheleGroup has been selected as the partner for the supply of prefabricated bathroom pods for the Morello II residential development in Croydon.
Morello is a £350 million urban regeneration project being delivered in phases. The first phase, already completed, delivered over 340 new homes close to East Croydon station. The second phase, which began in September 2020, will provide an additional 456 residential units across three separate buildings:
-
Morello Estate, consisting of two 25-storey residential towers, will feature 338 apartments.
-
The adjacent Cherry Orchard Gardens, a nine-storey stepped complex, will comprise 118 shared-ownership and affordable rent units.

The project will also include 18,000 sq ft of commercial space, new public areas, and a new bridge linking to East Croydon railway station.

Construction works are being carried out by main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, who is ensuring 78% responsible sourcing of key building materials, with a target of 90% within the next four months, while also aiming to divert 98% of construction waste from landfill to recycling.
Off-site prefabrication of elements such as panels, windows, and bathroom pods has been key in reducing on-site packaging waste.
Delivery of the 530 StercheleGroup bathroom pods for the two 25-storey towers is progressing according to the project schedule.
